This project began as a way to raise money for a plane ticket to Mexico to participate in Performagia, a festival of performance art associated with the Museo Universitario del Chopo in Mexico City, May 18-25, 2008.

Since 2003, Performagia annually hosts performances, pannel discussions and workshops at venues throughout the city, addressing a broad range of positions of performance in contemporary art.

In 2008, the festival included artists from the US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Columbia, Venezuela, Chile, and the Dominican Republic.

This online catalog showcases 51 drawings from the on going Bottle Series which is based on enthrophic concepts of construction/destruction, and redemption which are integral to the project I performed at the festival.

The initial black outline of the monsters inside each of the bottles is drawn in the time it takes for Joan Jett's LOVE IS ALL AROUND to play once through, which is about 58 seconds.

The drawings are done in groups of 10. Once all ten have been outlined, she goes back in and adds the color, ink and elbow grease. Each drawing is aprox 14 x 18 inches done in wax pastel, china marker and ink on paper, and are always for sale for $100, until they are gone, as part of the project's theme of cultural, monetary, and physical exchange.
